Walking Through Central Park #2
Anne Carson’s “On Hedonism”
Blurry Anne Carson & I at a Wilde Boys literary salon I held for John Ashbery in late 2010.
In Walking Through Central Park I recall poems that have been important to me from memory, while on a morning or evening walk, from the west side to the east side of the park, and back again, anecdotally telling stories about my life in poetry and New York.
Last time: Jack Gilbert & Linda Gregg
This week: Anne Carson’s “On Hedonism” and my friendship with her which started in college (where she was my teacher), and which took me to Iceland, where she invited me to hang out for a week as a way to get over a break up in 2009.
